Prabhajanavimardhanam

Prabhajanavimardhanam, a traditional Ayurvedic thailam (oil) mentioned in classical texts, is a powerful external application used to address Vata-related disorders, especially those that affect joints, muscles, and nerves. It is extensively used in Abhyanga (therapeutic oil massage) to reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness in the body.

This medicated oil combines Vata-shamaka (Vata-pacifying) herbs that help in breaking down ama (toxins), improving circulation, and restoring mobility and nerve function. It is particularly helpful in managing conditions such as arthritis, sciatica, frozen shoulder, muscular dystrophy, and post-stroke weakness.

Key Ingredients Prabhajanavimardhanam:

Dashamoola (Ten Roots): Known for anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties; balances Vata and strengthens muscles and bones.
Devadaru (Cedrus deodara): Relieves stiffness and enhances flexibility in joints.
Rasna (Pluchea lanceolata): Excellent for calming inflamed muscles and joints.
Kusta (Saussurea lappa): Supports circulation and detoxification.
Shigru (Moringa oleifera): Known to reduce joint inflammation and improve mobility.
Tila Taila (Sesame Oil): The base oil with nourishing, warming, and penetrating qualities ideal for Vata disorders.

These herbs are processed in til taila (sesame oil), which acts as a carrier to deliver their benefits deep into the tissues and nerves.
